DC places in 3A state tennis

Drew Central High School boys and girls tennis teams travled to Harrison Ark to complete in the 3A State tournament.

“I am very proud of all of them, they all did a great job and exceeded our goals for the year” Coach Fred Cooper said.

In boys singles Lesly-Jean Francios made it to round two defeating Josh Ziegler of Smackover 6-4, 6-2. He went on to play Bryan Cook from Piggott but lost 6-4, 6-2.

In boys doubles, Eamon Borse and Tommy Wilmoth made it to round three before the final winning over Valley Springs and Smackover before being defeated by Episcopal Collegiate.

In girls doubles, Coleman Herman and Jerica Binns beat out Jessieville and Piggott before being defeated in round three by Episcopal Collegiate.

“I also appreciate and am very thankful of the parents that have supported their children this year and without their help I could not have focused on the team. Thanks to Clark and Leigh Anne Wilmoth, Barbie Eubanks, and Greg Borse” Cooper said.
